The New Import Of Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters For Governor's Cup 2011: Maurice Baker
The Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters (TNT) are looking to achieve a Grand Slam title. They are not wasting any time. Even if in the PBA All-Star week celebration, the whole TNT team were doing some work in Boracay. They brought the whole team to train in the white sands of Boracay. They did some jogging with their new import, the 6'3 Maurice Baker from the Dakota Wizards of the NBA D-League. In the morning of May 22, 2011 Baker arrived in Boracay and he immediately went on to meet his TNT teammates. Last May 22 they immediately had an afternoon training. Baker is a winner. Way back in college, he led the Oklahoma State University Cowboys to a best record in the whole state.
TNT originally wanted Curtis Stinson but Ginebra was the one who first chose him as their import. Stinson is the number one scorer in the D-League. Their second choice was Quincy Douby but he was invited to the NBA Veterans Camp. They were forced to settle with Maurice Baker. Baker is not a bad player. He is in fact a perfect player who is very flexible. He knows how to rebound well and he also knows how to score effectively while using his 6'2 height without shoes. He averages 10 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Coach Chot Reyes commented about their new import. He said:
"To tell the truth, I don't have any idea about our import. We just decided to fly in the best available player who stands 6-foot-2. We're scrapping the bottom of the barrel. We're hoping that he can help us."
TNT will face two tough teams. First on June 2 they will face their arch rival Ginebra and on June 3 they will face B-Meg. The games will all be in Dubai but Studio 23 will air each of the games live.
Here's a long video on how Maurice Baker plays basketball.
