Philippine Women's Volleyball Team To Compete In Vietnam: Good luck To Our Pride

Mary Jean Balse, Rachel Daquis, Pau Soriano, Mayette Carolino, Dahlia Cruz, Tina Salak, Michelle Carolino, Mayetter Carolino, Suzanne Roces, Nica Guliman, Aiza Maizo, and Zharmaine Velez will be forming our Philippine Women's Volleyball Team (PWVT). They will try to win some games in the 12th Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship which will start on June 19 up to June 25 in the city of Vinh Phuc in Vietnam. They will be coached by Sammy Acaylar and he will be tapping the services of Ron Dulay and Norman Miguel as the assistant coach and the trainer of the team.

Our PWVT has been inactive for quite some time and they will dust off their jerseys as they will courageously face the Gigantic countries in the world of Asian Volleyball. The Philippines has absent for almost 5 years in this volleyball competition. The last time that we joined this competition was in 2006 wherein we placed 6th overall. The Philippines will be part of Group A along with the host country Vietnam, Japan and Iran. Group B on the other hand will have China, Thailand, Kazahkstan and Indonesia. Thailand has been the back-to-back champion of the league and their height and power were the reason why they continue to be the best in the competition.

Whoever wins this 1 week tournament will represent the region in the FIVB World Women’s Club Volleyball Championships which will happen later this year.

The whole country is wishing our PWVT Good luck. Many volleyball fans in Facebook are getting more and more excited on how we will fair in such a high-level volleyball competition. They said:

Look at how many fans liked the status of Shakey's V-League, that's a whopping 433 likers. That's how big this competition is for the fans. Hopefully the PWVT can have a better record this year because we placed 6th in our last stint in this competition.
