Graeme McDowell Ryder Cup 2010 Greatest Golfer
A European golfer named Graeme McDowell brought down the American Golfers. He is now considered as the best golfer this week. The 30 year-old professional golfer was the happiest man on earth yesterday.
His performance wasn't unusual because he was the first European to win the prestigious US Open in 40 long years. He topped the superstars like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Ernie Els, with his very stellar performance in the first round. But his best performance was on last Monday's showdown in the Celtic Manor. He effortlessly made a 15-foot putt on the 16th hole, which is one of the greatest clutch shots in Ryder Cup history.
That shot gave him a comfortable two-hole lead, with two to go, in his singles match against American Hunter Mahan. With his performance, Europe has won its sixth cup in the last eight season of the Cup. The European crowd mobbed him and he said "I've never felt more nervous on a golf course in all my life." It's ironic because he is so nervous that his shot brought calmness to the viewers.
