Rain or Shine Beats Barako Bull In PBA Philippine Cup Season 36

After Rain or Shine's disappointing loss to the Ginebra Gin Kings last friday Coach Caloy Garcia and Sol Mercado had a little altercation. That is perhaps the reason why they started out on fire in their game against the Barako. They beat the Barako Bulls with the score of 98-86.

Coach Caloy said, "he and Mercado have already put the ugly incident behind them." The altercation even made their team better and more focused.

Sol Mercado was even the best player of this game. He had 21 points. He had a 90 percent shooting from the field 8/11. His three pointer gave them the boost and momentum to establish a 21 point lead over the Barako Bulls.

Coach Caloy Garcia further said “I was looking for other players to step up. We gave
him six minutes (in the second half) pero walang nangyayari. So I sent in RJ (Jazul) and TY (Tang).I’m a young coach, he’s a young player. Things like this sometimes happened. But I hope he would understand that we gave up Joe Devance for him because we saw something in him. But again whatever happened in the dugout last Friday was behind us now. Today we had a better
ball movement.”

Jay R Reyes also contributed heavily in their win as he scored 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Jeff Chan and Larry Rodriguez also scored 11 and 10 points respetively.
