Juan Manuel Lopez Beats Rafael Marquez Title Defense Successful

Juan Manuel Lopez was able to retain his title. He was successful in defending his WBO featherweight title belt as he stops Rafael Marquez from snagging it from him.

He defeated Marquez in the 8th round. Marquez said that his shoulder injury prevented him from continuing to fight in the game.

It was in the second round that Juan Manuel started to land his shots on Marquez' face. In the first round Marquez was the one who was landing shots.

Marquez used some left hooks that landed but it was the flicker jabs and power punches of Lopez that shook Marquez' whole identity.

This domination of Lopez continued up to round 8 wherein he pounce Marquez to submission.


The fight was halted and Lopez was declared the winner by TKO.
