Smart Gilas Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 Ready Says Confident Rajko Toroman

Although the Smart Gilas National Basketball Team suffered a loss in a tune up game to the very witty Guangdong Tigers with the score of 87-75 coach Rajko Toroman still thinks that the team is just okay for the upcoming Guangzhou 16th Asian Games 2010.

Rajko Toroman said, "we're just fine despite the loss. Sol Mercado was not here because he has a left ankle injury. If he's here maybe the result would be different."

Their next tune up game will be against the Dongguan Leopards. That will be on Thursday. On friday they will now go to Guangzhou, China for the Asian Games.

The Smart Gilas Team were very fortunate to play against the Guangdong Tigers because they were able to experience playing against big time ex-NBA players in the likes of the high flyer Fred Jones and David Harrison.

Fred Jones was a former Indiana Pacer who has hops.

They also suffered a lot of mismatches from the post and from the wing men positions. Asi Taulava, whose just 6'9 had to guard a 7'2 center from the other team while the Smart Gilas Team Captain Kagawad Chris Tiu had to guard a 6'2 wingman.
