Tre' Newton Football Star Suffers Career Ending Concussions That Badly Affected His Brain

The Texas University Long Horns' star running back Trey Newton has said that he will no longer play Football because of his injury that severely affected a part his brain. He had multiple concussions last 2009 and then in his apparently last game, he aggravated it after bumping into their opponents. It prompted him and his loved ones to finally decide that he should quit football. He can't help but to quit because their team doctor advised him to do so.

After the injury he seemed to have memory loss. He can no longer recall what happened to him in his career ending game.

His father Nate Newton who played for the Dallas Cowboys can't help but to be teary eyed after he was informed of his son's career ending injury.

He is a true athlete who knows how to play despite having an injury. As a proof, after his injury last 2009 he still managed to be their leading rusher within 552 yards. Prior to aggravating his injury he managed to rush for 229 yards and to generate three touchdowns for his team this season.

This year, after aggravating his injury, he has failed to play in their game against Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

As a motivating factor, Tre Newton bore in his mind what his loving father said to him. His father said,
"You have to think about the future because football is going to end someday."

Tre said,
"As much as I love football, this is one of the hardest decisions of my life," Newton said. "(But) football isn't forever."

The good thing is that he will not lose his scholarship in Texas until he finishes his degree which is corporate communications, but he will have to be part of the coaching staff who will train their running backs.

His teamates and coach had so many good things to say about him.

Coach Mack Brown said that Tre Newton is a great person and a great leader. His teamates on the other hand are saying that he is a great spokesperson who loves giving pep talks before their every game. He also has a great potential but that's just it. He doesn't have control on his destiny.

Tre said that he will always be with his teamates. He will try to help them even in small ways such as giving them water when they are thirsty.

Here's a tribute to his great college football career:
