Adamson Celebrates As They Beat Ateneo In PCCL 2010 Finals Game 1
The Adamson University Falcons are for real this time. After having a great summer, they fell short in the UAAP Season 73 Men's basketball. This time, in the PCCL 2010 wherein the best of the best teams compete against each each other, they manage to be one win away from their first ever PCCL championship and it's against the 2010 UAAP champions, the Ateneo Blue Eagles! Oh my! That will be sweet.
In the first game of the best of 3 finals series, Alex Nuyles flew the highest as he carried his team underneath his lengthy wings to beat the Ateneo with the score of 80-78.
The game was really close. Emman Monfort got a three pointer to give Ateneo the lead in the last 32 seconds of the game, but Alex Nuyles never gave up. He showed his concentration and he drove courageously to the basket and he got a rare 3-point play to get the lead from the Ateneo and the eventual win over the very tall Ateneans.
Alex Nuyles was named as the best player of the game with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
With the win, the Falcons end a long losing drought against Ateneo.
