The Los Angeles Lakers have tied their first round series against the New Orleans Hornets, 1-1 in the 2011 NBA Playoffs. They won with the score of 87-78.

The Lakers showed that they still have the heart of a champion as they beat the Hornets despite Kobe Bryant's poor performance. He only had 11 points and he also gave up some important fouls on Chris Paul. The teamwork of the Lakers carried them in this game 2 win. Pau Gasol was awakened in game 2 after a dismal showing in game 1.

I almost cried when I heard that Coach Phil Jackson made a statement before the start of the game that this could be his final Playoff series if they will not play better against the Hornets. He also pointed out that he is happy that Lamar Odom brought home the 6th man award.

He was very happy that his team responded to his call. He wants to get his 4th NBA ring under the Kobe era. He was also happy about Andrew Bynums performance. Bynum scored 17 points and he dominated Gray in this game. He finished all his shots in a monstrous way. Ron Artest also showed his god-like strength as he followed up several missed shots in this game. The Hornets can't seem to check him.

The two bright spots for the Hornets were Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza. Paul made several buzzer beaters and Ariza scored 22 big points. He also made a terrific defensive job against Bryant.

The game 3 of this series will be on Friday, April 22, 2011 and it will fall on a Saturday in the Philippines. It will be 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
