Lakers Signs Trey Johnson From NBA D League As Back-up Point Guard For Fisher In Playoffs 2011
After winning 15 games after the All-Star Game 2011, the Los Angeles Lakers are now on a 5 game losing streak. They've lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, and their most recent lost was on the hands of the youngest team in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunders.
According to Eric Pincus, the problem of the Lakers lies on the age of their point guard spot. Derrick Fisher is in his 30's and he is creating mismatches whenever he is guarding Russel Westbrook and Derrick Rose. They are faster than Fisher and it continues to hurt the Lakers' defense. Thus, they were forced to call a reinforcement in the person of a D-League supertar, Trey Johnson. Trey is a former Jackson State superstar and he is playing for Bakersfield in the NBA D-League.
