Alaska Traded Joe Devance To Air 21 For JR Reyes For PBA Governors Cup 2011

After Joe Devance (JDV) turned down the maximum salary offer of Alaska, he's now heading to the Air 21 express. Air 21 agreed to trade their lanky big man JR Reyes in exchange for JDV. This is a trade that will befenit Air 21 because JDV is a certified scorer while JR is still looking to find his place in the PBA. He has not yet proven himself to the PBA fans. The deal has been perfected today. JDV will soon start practicing for Air 21.

Here's how the story of the trade started. Ma'am Patricia Hizon announced in his Twitter account that a "J for J" trade will soon happen in the PBA in preparation for the Governor's Cup on June. Many PBA fans were confused and they themselves deciphered the "J for J" trade. Some thought the trade will involve either Jayjay Helterbran, John Wilson, JC Intal, Jimbo Aquino, and Jay Washington, but their efforts didn't succeed as earlier today coach Jong Juichico and the SMC said that they will not trade any players from Ginebra and San Miguel and if there will be a trade, they will immediately inform their players about it. The Ginebra fans were delighted about the news.

The time continues to tick and after quite some time, Alaska's representative, Mr. Joaqui Trillo made an announcement today. He said:

"They are giving Devance a maximum salary but the veteran Fil-Am wanted out to seek greener pasture. We decided to let go of Joe. Well, he wanted out, despite us giving him the maximum salary. He wanted to seek greener pasture. But we wish him the best. We’re excited to get JR Reyes from Air 21. He’ll be a big help to our team.”

The "J for J" trade mystery is now clarified. Its JDV for JR Reyes. After the fans failed in their deciphering efforts, Ginebra fans are now saying that any SMC team especially Ginebra should have tried to get JDV because he's tall and he can definitely score a lot. All I can say is that if he's really for Ginebra, then let's just wait. God will make it happen in the future, but for now he's our foe.
