Ateneo Lady Eagles Beat Adamson Lady Falcons To Win V-League Season 8 First Conference Title In Shakeys Vleague Season 8 First Conference 2011
The Ateneo Lady Eagles has proven to all their haters that they have the backbone to win a title in such a tough league such as the Shakey's V-League. Not only did they win a title, they did it at the expense of the V-League defending champions, Adamson Lady Falcons. That's quite an accomplishment. And guess who dominated game 2, it was Alyssa Valdez. I had goosebumps when I heard that update because when you think about how young she is, she's just 17 years old and she can already dominate a game. That's scary. She's one of the new young go-to-gals of the Lady Eagles aside from Ariel Patnongon. Valdez was named as the best player of the game. She had 18 successful attacks and 4 emphatic blocks.
Here are the complete scores per set. Adamson took the first set but Ateneo came back strong to get the second, third and fifth sets.
Ateneo's rookie coach, Charo Soriano said something about her status as Ateneo's head coach. She said:
"You don't know what will happen in the future. You just have to be prepared and you just have to cherish the moment."
Many fans were convinced that Ms. Charo should be the permanent head coach of the Ateneo Lady Eagles but coach Roger Gorayeb will still be Ateneo's head coach in the upcoming UAAP 74.
Their import Kesinee who was also named as the V-League MVP also made some great plays against Nerissa Bautista. She blocked her several times.
Aerieal Patnongon also showed her skills as she made some crucial middle hits to baffle Angel Vaquez of Adamson. She's the best libero in the league right now but she can't figure out where the balls are coming because Ateneo's guns came out firing from all angles.
Adamson have great floor defense but Ateneo just had a better offense this time.
