Derrick Rose Wins MVP Award Today: The Youngest Player To Win MVP

Derrick Rose could have rested in the last 1 minute of the 4th quarter in game 1 of their best of 7 Eastern Conference series against the Hawks but Rose opted to still play because he wants to help his team win whatever the cost may be. He wants to be with them through thick and thin. He unfortunately sprained his left ankle. That is just how Derrick wants to be on the floor. That's the mark of a true MVP. You never stop working until the buzzer sounds. He managed to have 24 points in that game. I was a bit worried that Kobe will get an outside shot for the MVP award because of his stellar performance against the Hornets and the Mavericks, but thankfully God really gives to those who deserve to be given. After 13 long years the MVP trophy is now back to Chicago. Derrick Rose is the new MVP. He is the youngest NBA player at 22 to win the award. There are only 2 Bulls player who have won the award, Derrick Rose and Michael Jordan.

Derrick Rose averaged 25 points and 7.7 assists per game while using his trademark inside out game. Derrick Rose received 113 first place votes from the media. Rose placed first, Howard placed second, James placed third, Bryant placed fourth and Durant placed fifth in the voting. Rose was the runaway winner in the voting. Rose thanked his teamates for the trust that they've bestowed upon him. Rose almost cried when he ended his speech and he looked at his mom. He said:
"Just thinking how hard she works. Those are hard days. My days shouldn't be hard because I love what I'm doing. That's playing basketball. You keep me going every day and I love you."

Here's a shout out to all the ballers out there, LET'S ALL BE LIKE ROSE.
