FEU Tamaraws Beat College of St. Benilde Blazers To Stay Unbeaten In 2011 FilOil Preseason Basketball
The FEU Tamaraws stay unbeaten as they trounce the College of St. Benilde Blazers in the 2011 FilOil Flying V Pre-season basketball action yesterday at the Arena in San Juan. Bannered by their rising star guard and former UAAP Juniors MVP, Terence Romeo who scored 14 points, the Tams beat CSB via 81-49. Romeo was helped by the second ranked player in the FilOil MVP race, Pippo Noundou who scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
The Tamaraws improved with 7 wins and 0 losses and they stay on top of the standings in group B while CSB goes down in the cellar of group B with 0 wins and 5 losses.
Coach Bert Flores of FEU was not satisfied. He still wants to juice out the full potential of his cogs. He will never stop from pushing his players until they reach the heights the he and the likes of the legendary FEU player, Arwind Santos achieved during his stay with the Morayta based squad. Coach Bert further said:
“Even a sweep in the first round won’t mean a thing. In the finals, it’s against the three other top teams.”
We can never say how deep are the roots of those statements but we can revisit their bitter experiences in the UAAP and then we can have a deeper feeling why coach Bert is pushing his boys to the max. Their ultimate goal is to exact revenge against the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
