Memphis Grizzlies Beat Oklahoma City Thunder In Game 1 of Semi-finals In 2011 NBA Playoffs 2nd Round




The Memphis Grizzlies won game one of the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Prior to the playoffs Memphis was considered as the underdogs but after slaying the second best team in the league, the San Antonio Spurs they are no longer the Underdogs, they are now making some noise as they went out to face OKC. They won game 1 with the score of 114-101. OKC has a home court advantage yet they still beat them Behind Zach Randolph's big game.

Z-Bo, Randolph's moniker, had 34 big points. He had his way early in the game. He is virtually unstoppable perhaps because he is a left handed go-to-guy. This is his career playoff high score. since his rookie days. He even outscored Durant. He is drawing some comparisons to the great Moses Malone. Kevin Durant had 33 points in this game but they still lost to Memphis. Randolph has been the man for Memphis since the start of the Playoffs. They beat the Spurs primarily because of his offense.

The game was a high scoring one. In the first half alone the score were already 54 to 38 in favor of Memphis. Perhaps this is because these two teams are the youngest teams in the NBA right now. They are faster and quicker and they can score in bunches. Also, this is Memphis' first time to be in the NBA semi-finals. OKC made a late run but Marc Gasol, the 6'11 big bear made a perimeter shot that sealed the win for Memphis.
