Alaska Aces Beat Meralco Bolts in A Tune-up Game 74-71
The 6'8 JR Reyes is showing that he can be a great big man in the PBA as he scored about 8 crucial points for the rebuilding Alaska Aces in their tune-up game against the Meralco Bolts. Lewis Alfred (LA) "Showtime" Tenorio ran the offense of Alaska to perfection. He ran several pick and rolls with their center, the 6'7 Sonny Thoss and with their strong and tall import, the 6'5 Jason Forte. The final score was 74-71 in favor of the Aces.
I was told that LA Tenorio, Sonny Thoss, JR Reyes and Jason Forte were the ones who carried Alaska over the run and gun style of the Meralco Bolts. A fan commented that Alaska is slowly becoming a scary team because of their deadly pick and roll plays. Thoss and Reyes will cause huge problems for the other teams. Tenorio will just choose whom to give the ball after a solid pick and roll. If he will give it to Thoss, there will be a free dunk and if he'll pass the ball to Reyes, he'll just pull up for a perimeter shot like Dirk Nowitzki. That's really great. Plus, they have a solid player in Jason Forte.
