Mandaue Beats MP Warriors to Win 3rd Liga Pilipinas Championship Title: Former Alaska Aces Ariel Capus Played Hero's Role

June 27, 2011, Gen. Santos City- Congratulations to the Cebu Landmasters RDAK-Mandaue as they won their 3rd weekly championship title in the SMC Liga Pilipinas Conference V by beating the MP Warriors of Gen. Santos City. They just beat the host of championship via 76-65.

The long range bomber of the Cebu Landmasters RDAK-Mandaue and former PBL player, Ariel Capus got his rhythm in the 4th quarter of this game to help his team win the highly contested game. His bosses, Rick King and Joe Soberano were so happy with the result of this game. Ariel Capus helped in scoring to finally beat the MP Warriors of Gen. San.

The game was tight right from the start but those three of Capus extinguished the fire of the MP Warriors. Capus led his team in scoring as he had 27 points. He got his points mostly from his outside shots. He made 11 out-of 14 shots from the field. That's a high shooting clip considering that he was cut from his PBA team a year ago. He was probably proving something in this game. Along with his scoring, he also showed tremendous amount of hustle in getting rebounds for his team. He had 8 rebounds in this game. He's slowly becoming an all-around player. As a result, he was named as the Finals MVP of the Liga Pilipinas.

To help Ariel Capus, Marlon Basco and Mark Magsumbol pitched in 14 and 12 points each to beat the very energetic MP Warriors.

To those who forgot how Ariel Capus looks like, here's his picture.
