Ron Artest Changing His Name to Metta World Peace
In the Philippines, any of our citizens can change their names if it badly affects their lives. But in the USA, I don't know how their law on changing a person's name operates. To give us an idea on how it operates, we'll have Ron Artest.
According to one of America's premier celebrity news show, TMZ.com:
"Yes, Ron is going the way of Cassius Clay, Lew Alcindor and Chad Johnson. Ron's filed a petition in L.A. County Superior Court to change his name to -- World Peace. We're told Ron wants to put the his new last name -- "Peace" -- on the back of his L.A. Lakers' jersey."
When I heard about this drastic attempt of Ron Artest to change his name, I wasn't that shocked because in line with this attempt, he's also taping a reality show about life in a prison cell. His new advocacy is to help prisoners cope up with their lives. He really wants to have world peace. His attempt to change his name really came from the bottom of his heart. I just don't know if his cause can help convince their jury to approve his request to change his name. What do you think guys?
