Sudan Daniel Will Not Be Able To Play In NCAA 87 Because of ACL Injruy: NCAA Championship is Open For All

After losing in the 2011 FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup championship against the Ateneo De Manila University, the San Beda Red Lions will have to deal with two new problems. First, they have to deal with the lost of Sudan Daniel in their line-up and second, they will have to find a guy who will replace him. Sudan's ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury has not yet been healed and he will have to be sidelined for the rest of the NCAA Season.

The NCAA Season 87 will already be on July 3, 2011. Barely 2 weeks from now. They will have to face the reality that their Superman Sudan Daniel will be out for the rest of the season. They will have to double time their training so that they can be able to adjust quickly. Their other big guys, the Semerad twins, Jake Pascual, Dave Marcelo and Kyle Pascual will have to step up in their game. But still, you'll have to ask, who will replace Daniel? Those guys are not as tall and as athletic compared to Daniel. San Beda could field in their new big man, Ola Adeogun, but they will have to violate the 1 year residency law in the NCAA. That will not be a good plan. That might backfire to the San Beda community. And so, the question will still be a hanging question. Perhaps we'll have to wait until the season starts. The players of San Beda will have to answer it on their own.

Taking a deeper look at Sudan's injury, he might be out longer than expected because he tore his ACL. Sundan initially insisted to play through the injury but their team doctors said that it will only aggravate his injury. He should take a rest and he should prepare for an upcoming surgery. With his injury, coach Frankie Lim remained steadfast in his resolve, he said:

“We’re preparing the boys to play minus Su. All the other teams became stronger this year with talented recruits. With Su out, at least five other teams will battle it out for this year’s title. We tried to find some other ways but doctors advised Su to undergo an operation as soon as possible. We are not as strong as last year but I can assure the Bedan community that we will go out there to win with or without Su."

Sudan Daniel is a very import player for San Beda. He led them to an 18-0 title sweep last NCAA season. He was eventually named as the MVP that year. He's virtually unstoppable in the paint, averaging tripple-double numbers. He will be a big void in the San Beda line-up. With his lost, the NCAA Season 87 trophy will be in a pandemonium hunt. Arellano, JRU, San Sebastian, Mapua and Letran are all interested to get that trophy.
