UST Lady Tigresses Will Not Join Shakeys V league Season 8 2nd Conference

I was getting more and more excited when I heard that my favorite team in the Shakey's V-League, the UST Lady Tigresses, will be back in the V-League second conference. I told to my self that alas, I will once again see the happy faces of the Lady Tigresses in V-League. But yesterday, June 14, 2011, at exactly 10:28 p.m., I read a very sad news. The UST team will not join in the upcoming 2nd conference of V-League.
Odjie Mamon, their new head coach stated the reasons why they will not join in the 2nd conference of V-League. He said:
"The players were still adjusting to his new system. This is not the period that our team can compete in any tournament."
Mamon also stressed out that he's just starting to stamp his mark on the team. He's only been with his new team for barely two months now. He replaced coach Shaq last April and that was only a month ago. He needs more time to introduce his new system to his team.
Mamon also added that:
"His players could not afford to miss classes because of the tight V-League schedule. They had to make sure that they would not be disqualified in the UAAP due to academic deficiency. I don’t want to sacrifice each player’s eligibility since V-League is demanding when it comes to time.”
The good thing for the Tigresses is that their injured players are now okay because coach Mamon didn't make that as a reason why they will not join in the 2nd conference of V-League. The new system and academics are the only ones that he mentioned as the problems of his team.
To my fellow UST fans let's just pray for our team. Hopefully they would be able to gel with coach Mamon in no time. Let's just give to them our full support. They will join the Unigames in Bacolod. Join me as I follow them closely. I'll make more posts about the Tigresses and on their stint in Unigames 2011.
