Capiz To Host UniGames 2011 because USLS Declined

Capiz will be the host of this year's 16th University Games (UniGames). It will open on October 22 and will end on the 29th. The University of St. La Salle (USLS) has had been hosting the UniGames but due to school renovations and busy schedule, they declined to be the host this year. Thankfully, Capiz accepted the responsibility of hosting this year's UniGames. USLS gave a word that they will host next year's tournament.

USLS' president, Bro. Ray B. Suplido, FSC, gave thanks to the organizers of the UniGames for asking them to be the host of this year's UniGames but unfortunately, he said that their school is undergoing renovations because they are preparing for its Centennial Celebration.

One of the renovations is the reconstruction of their track oval. The renovations are expected to be finished next year. Just in time for next year's UniGames. He regrets that this year will have to be the first year that they will not be hosting the said league. They've been hosting it since 1996.

UST, NU, and DLSU are some of the participating schools in the UNIGAMES.
