Ginebra Traded Willie Miller to Air 21 For KG Canaleta for the Rest of PBA Governors' Cup 2011

When I saw Willie Miller in the bench of Ginebra looking very sad and very lonely in their game against Alaska last Saturday, I knew right then and there that he's bound to be traded sooner or later.

Lo and behold, the former PBA MVP, Willie Miller was already traded to Air 21 in exchange for the High-Flyer KG Canaleta. Ginebra will also get a 2012 draft pick from the Express together with Canaleta.

Willie Miller has been asking the Ginebra management to give him more playing time but since they are loaded with so much talent in the guard position, they couldn't grant his request. Mark Caguioa and Jay Jay Helterbrand have also been playing well for the Gin Kings compared to Miller. That prompted the Kings to trade him. The problem now is, Can Miller get the playing time that he wants with the Express? We'll see. KG Canaleta on the other hand will start his training with the Gin Kings tomorrow.

With the departure of Willie Miller, here's what coach Jong Uichico said:

JONG UICHICO: Mabigat din loob ko bitawan si WILLIE MILLER. I know he can contribute. Kaso we can't give him the time he wants. KG CANALETA will start practicing with us, hopefully, tomorrow.
