San Sebastian Lady Stags get Rubie De Leon and Jill Gustilo as Their 2 Guest Players in Shakeys V-League Season 8 2nd Conference Which will Start on July 31, 2011
There will be a total of 6 rookies in the San Sebastian Lady Stags' team line-up for the Shakey's V-League Season 8 2nd Conference. That's probably the reason why they asked for the services of the former setter of the UST Lady Tigresses Rubie De Leon and the former Adamson Lady Falcons' spiker Jill Gustilo.
Those 2 players are certified veterans. Rubie is a very good setter. She once led the UST Lady Tigresses to several UAAP Season 74 Titles. She has also played as a guest player for several different teams in the V-League such as UST, UP, and FEU. She got her first V-League Title with UST during the SVL Season 4 First Conference. San Sebastian will be her 4th team in the V-League. To those who are not yet acquainted with Ms. Rubie De Leon, here's her picture. She's the one wearing eye glasses.
And here's how Ms. Rubie plays. She's the setter of FEU in this video.
Ms. Jill Gustilo on the other hand is one of the remaining active players of the Adamson Lady Falcons who competed in the UAAP Season 70 Women's Volleyball Championship against the FEU Lady Tamaraws. They eventually lost to the Lady Tamaraws but still their line-up during that time was very good. Jill was a vital part of their finals bid during that year. Since then, she's been known as a strong spiker but often times her spikes were so strong that they often go wide or go outside. Her spiking power is like Dzi Gervacio. They are both powerful attackers but they often lose control of their spikes, but when they are on point, they are both deadly attackers. They can kill the ball fast. Here's how Jill looks like. She's the one with braces.
Here's how Jill plays volleyball. Just fast forward to the 5:05 mark of this video where Jill is attacking the FEU defense.
Jill and Rubie will surely increase the attack rate of the Lady Stags. They'll have an instant setter and instant spiker in those two players. Hopefully they'll be able to play at their best for their new team. These two players will definitely make the 2nd Conference more exciting.
