Shakeys V League Season 8 2nd Conference Opens on July 24, 2011: What's In Store For The Fans?
Aside from the new opening date of the much awaited Shakey's V-League Season 8 2nd Conference or Open Conference, which will now be on July 24, 2011, the Shakey's V-League management also made a very promising statement that will entice their viewers. Here's what they said:
"Final Schedule is UP!! New Teams, New Lineups, Familiar Faces!"
The new teams that they are pertaining are the Maynilad, Army, Hapee- Perpetual, Navy, Excelroof-SSC-R, Talkn'Txt-Ateneo, Air force, and Meralco. They are the 8 semi-commercial teams. Their line-up should surprise us because the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) has released a memorandum that they prohibiting the RP Team players from joining the V-league. The ultimate question now is who will be the new guest players of the V-league teams? Rachel Ann Daquis, Aiza Maizo, Su Roces and Mary Jean Balse are bona fide members of the RP Team, thus, they are not allowed to play in the V-league. Those four players are elite players and the V-league need them for it to be more entertaining. Without those four players we should expect more foreign players to participate in the V-League. We heard that the Ateneo Lady Eagles are looking to get a new Thai guest player to replace Daquis. We just don't know her name yet.
16 more days are left before the start of the V-League Season 8 2nd Conference. Will that amount of time be enough for the V-League to make the 2nd Conference more entertaining and more competitive? We'll see in the next few days.
On a personal note, since they now call the second conference an Open Conference, I hope that the former big time players of the UAAP and NCAA would be able to join the V-League. I miss Wendy Ann Semana, Chie Saet, and Manila Santos. I hope that they'll come out wherever they are so that the V-League will be more entertaining and will be more explosive.
