FIBA Asia Cup 2012 AKTV Schedule of Games For Gilas 2.0: Gilas 2.0 Ready To Make History In Japan
The FIBA Asia Cup 2012 will start on the 14th of September. It will be held at the Land of The Rising Sun, Japan.
The Philippines will be sending almost the same line-up that competed at the recently concluded 34th Williams Jones Cup. I don't want to brag, but the Philippines won that Tournament.
Sol Mercado won't be with the team due to undisclosed reasons. No worries because he will be replaced by Jared Dilinger, a tough player who can defend wing players and who can also score in so many different ways.
The only problem that I can see is that we are in Group A. China and Lebanon are also in Group A. From the looks of it, it poses a slight threat to the Philippines because China is fresh from the 2012 London Olympics. And, for me they had a great experience against the best of the best national basketball teams in the world today. In fact, they had a great performance against the 2nd ranked team in the world- Spain. Wang Zhizhi and Yi Jianlian had great scoring game in that match. Lebanon on the other hand, defeated Team Philippines in the Jones Cup 2012 by quite a huge margin. Hopefully we can compete well against these two teams. Preparation is the key here.
Without further ado, here's the FIBA Asia Cup 2012 Schedule:
On Thursday For The QuarterFinals (1:00 PM LIVE on BTV )and 8:00 PM on AKTV Replay ( September 20, 2012) : Gilas 2.0 vs. Chinese Taipei
SEMIS (September 21) 3:30 PM
FINALS (September 22) 1:00 PM
