Benoit Mbala DLSU ’s New Recruit : 17 Year Old & 6’7 Cameroonian Ben Mbala Joins De La Salle Green Archers!

From Cebu to Taft, “The King Cobra” of the Southwestern University Cobras has finally found a new home. It has already been confirmed that Benoit Mbala, the 17 year old and 6’7 Cameroonian has finally transferred to De La Salle University. He will suit up for the DLSU Green Archers probably next year in the UAAP Season 77 after the 1 year residence period. He just has to enroll this coming May.

Mr. Noli Eala was the one who confirmed the news.

The 6’7 Mbala helped the SWU Cobras win the CESAFI Title last year. They eventually qualified to the PCCL 2012 Final 4 wherein they finished 4th.

Mbala’s claim to fame or should I say one shining moment that caught the attention of millions of basketball fans in the Philippines including the Manila based college scouts happened when he scored a monstrous 41 points, and grabbed 16 rebounds against eventual PCCL 2012 Champions, the UST Growling Tigers. Mbala led the Cobras to a 93-91 OT win against the heavily favored Growling Tigers.

Mbala will join the Bacolod native Kib Montalbo as the DLSU Green Archers’ recruits this year. Scouts are congratulating DLSU because they allegedly bested Ateneo and tons of other schools in recruiting Ben and Kib.

Kudos to the DLSU Green Archers Team Management for doing a wonderful job in recruiting these two highly touted recruits.
