Miami Heat Beat Indiana Pacers In Game 5: They're 1 Win Away From The NBA Finals 2013
Miami is now one win away from another trip to the NBA Finals after taking game 5 of their best of 7 Eastern Conference finals series against the Indiana Pacers via 90-79. They now take a commanding 3 games to 2 lead and will try to wrap things up in Game 6 which will be in Indiana.
LeBron led the Heat in scoring in Game 5 with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Although this time around, it was not Wade and Bosh who helped him beat the Pacers, it was Udonis Haslem who registered a much needed 16 points and 3 rebounds.
It was a close game from the first quarter up to the earlier minutes of the 3rd,but the game took a 270 degree turn when LeBron James suddenly got hot. He shot numerous three pointers from almost anywhere on the court. Add to that his aggressiveness in slashing to the basket and finding his open teammates. Haslem was the main beneficiary of those inside incursions. He just patrolled in his favourite spot on the court- the corner area. There he received several passes from LeBron. We all saw how he translated those nice passes into nice looking perimeter jumpers, all day, all night.
Haslem had a big man clinic in game 5.
If you’re a big man, go watch Udonis Haslem. He’s not that flashy but he gets the job done.
“That’s what I came here for. It’s to be able to compete for a championship each and every year,” said LeBron after their big win in Game 5.
