Philippines -- The Indiana Pacers Players and Coaching staff will Participate in special olympics Basketball Clinic in Manila, Philippines
as Part of 2013 NBA Global Games.


WHO: The whole Indiana Pacers Coaching Staff & Players, Jalen Rose(NBA Legend), Ron Harper (NBA Legend) with Adel Tamano – VP, Public Affairs & Communications, Coca-Cola.


WHAT: In partnership with Special Olympics Philippines and Sprite, the Indiana Pacers will host a clinic for 60 local Special Olympics athletes at the Mall of Asia Arena. The SM Group will also invite 20 children from the SM Foundation for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with the Indiana Pacers and NBA Legends at the clinic. The Pacers will be in Manila, Philippines for the team’s NBA Global Games pre-season showdown against the Houston Rockets.

Following the 2013-14 NBA Global Games, the NBA will have staged 148 games (regular-season and pre-season) in 20 countries and territories across Europe, the Americas and Asia since 1978. The league will also have played a total of 18 regular-season games in London, Mexico City, and Tokyo, Japan dating back to 1990.

The NBA’s global partnership with Special Olympics began in 1979 when the league helped to introduce basketball as a new sport to the organization. The NBA, its teams and players have since provided sponsorship to Special Olympics basketball tournaments, created public service announcements featuring NBA players, and participated in major Special Olympics events.
