MANILA -– Chicago Bulls' star center Joakim Noah has finally left Le Coq Sportif to sign with adidas.
Noah joins his teammate Derrick Rose, who's currently the face of adidas basketball.
He's the newest player to sign with the brand with the 3 stripes that already has the 3-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard of the Houston Rockets, 2013 NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, two-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards' John Wall, Bulls' Derrick Rose and many other notable talents in the NBA.
The new partnership with Noah makes him the seventh current Chicago Bulls player with an adidas partnership including Rose, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Marquis Teague, Tony Snell and Erik Murphy.
“Joakim has demonstrated the work ethic, passion and attitude that make him a perfect fit for the adidas brand,” said Chris Grancio, adidas head of global basketball sports marketing. “When you watch him play, his competitiveness and love of the game is contagious on the court and we’re excited to partner with him as he enters the prime of his career.”
Other adidas athletes include WNBA MVP Candace Parker, FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins.
Noah will be featured in a variety of upcoming adidas marketing initiatives and will play a role in the development of basketball footwear and apparel.
