Chris Banchero 's Favorite PBA Team is Ginebra : Get To Know The Point-Guard Who's Been Making A Lot of Noise Prior To PBA Draft 2014

The spitfire point-guard Chris Banchero has been making a lot of noise days before the PBA Draft 2014 slated this coming August 24. Whether he's a top 3 draft pick or otherwise, the online debates have been heating up.

Some people see a lot of negative things in his style of play. They are free to ridicule him, but those who know him well will say that he's just a man who wants to play basketball and give the best to his family.

Born and raised in Seattle Washington, Banchero is a Fil-Italian baller who has been proving his doubters wrong. At 6'1 inches and someone who has a history of ACL knee injury during his college career at Seattle Pacific University, not a lot of people believe that he can make it to the pro ranks more so in the NBA, but he made each of them eat their words as he was able to become a star player in Italy and eventually in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) playing for the San Miguel Beermen (2012-2013).

His successful basketball career continued to flourish as he got the attention of Filipino basketball scouts after a great tournament run in the ABL wherein he led the Beermen to the 2013 ABL Championship while playing alongside Asi Taulava, Erik Menk, Junemar Fajardo and JR Cawaling.

Later that year, he decided to join the 2013 PBA D-League Draft. He was selected by the Boracay Rum Waves as their top overall pick in the first-ever D-League draft.

He averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in the D-League Foundation Cup. Those are impressive numbers considering that he competed against the best of the best amateur players in the country who are vying to get the attention of PBA scouts.

But Chris is not stopping there. He's currently doing some training sessions in New York, trying to get better in preparation for the upcoming PBA Draft.

In line with his possible team in the PBA, do you know that one of the most talked about info about Chris in Online Forums was his statement regarding his favorite PBA Team. Chris made it clear that if he's given the opportunity, he wants to play for Ginebra because it is his favorite team.

"I feel blessed to play for any team in the PBA,
but since you’re asking me what I’d prefer
if I get a chance to--- I think, it’s Ginebra,”
Ginebra has always been my favorite team...
since I started playing pro- basketball here in the Philippines,”
It’s the number one team in the PBA. It’s
like playing for the national team. And I am not the only who sees it,”
