Jaja Santiago Answers The Question: Will She Play For Those Countries That Want To Recruit Her?
The Philippines played inspired volleyball yesterday in their victory over Iran in the battle for 7th place in the Asian U-23 Women's Volleyball Championship via straight sets: 25-15, 25-21, and 26-24 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig. What a fitting way to end their campaign in the tourney. What's even better is that other countries have noticed the talent of our players.
In fact, our middle blocker Jaja Santiago was reported to have been invited by Chinese Taipei and other countries to play in their commercial leagues.
Santiago led the now 7th placers Nationals in beating the Iranians with 15 attacks, 1 block, and 1 service ace. As the best player of the match, she was asked about the invitations of the other countries during the post-game interview.
"Siyempre happy ako na isa ako dun sa player na gusto nilang kunin na maglaro for them. Actually pwede, pero not sure pa sa ngayon kasi may Pilipinas pa," said the lanky middle blocker.
She also thanked their supporters.
"Dun po sa mga sumusuporta sa Pilipinas tsaka sakin, thank you po. Patuloy niyo po kaming suportahan lalo na sa mga susunod naming mga liga."
