Scottie 1 World Balance Signature Shoe Initial Look and New Colorway Release Date in the Philippines
Much to the delight of the millions of Ginebra fans something special happened once again as one of its players got his first signature shoe. Yes you heard it right. It's been quite some time since a player in the PBA got this rare achievement.
The father of Ginebra's Never Say Die mantra the legendary Robert "Sonny" Jaworski started it all when he signed with Grosby back in the day. The famous Bandana Brothers followed his path as Mark Caguioa and Jay Jay Helterbrand inked a signature shoe deal with Accel.
And now, arguably the most inspiring Ginebra player considering that he came from a small school, overcame a back injury, and despite being just 6'1 he's now regarded as the best guard rebounder in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Scottie Thompson is World Balance's newest endorser. He represent a typical Pinoy Baller who is ready to go out there to defy the odds thru sheer hard work and dedication.
I can't help but look back at Scottie's career in the NCAA. Back then he didn't have a consistent three-point shot and he didn't have a high free-throw percentage but through constant practice and effort he is now a superstar in our country's most prestigious professional basketball league.
Deservingly so he becomes the second player to endorse the brand behind Philip Cezar who was the first to ever do it in the 80's.
When I first saw the Scottie 1 I felt I was part of the unveiling of history as the partnership between Scottie and World Balance not only signify the brand's return into the signature shoe market but also the lighting of the fire in the belly of each of the Filipino Ballers who dream of becoming the next Scottie Thompson in terms of developing a mentality that can conquer it all.
The red and white colorway of the Scottie 1 is now sold out. The release date of the next colorway, the black and gold will be on July 2022.
